Poached Eggs
Delicious and perfectly cooked poached eggs served with toast.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Bread - 4 slices, toasted
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- White vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 4 cups
- Eggs - 4
Let's Get Started
- Fill a large saucepan with water and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Add the white vinegar to the simmering water.
- Crack one egg into a small bowl or ramekin.
- Create a gentle whirlpool in the simmering water using a spoon.
- Carefully slide the egg into the center of the whirlpool.
- Repeat steps 3-5 for the remaining eggs.
- Poach the eggs for about 3-4 minutes for a soft yolk or 5-6 minutes for a firmer yolk.
- Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove the poached eggs from the water and place them on a paper towel to drain excess water.
- Season the poached eggs with salt and pepper.
- Spread butter on the toasted bread slices.
- Place a poached egg on each slice of toast.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
