Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the shrimp in the buttermilk for 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, and Cajun seasoning.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  4. Dredge the shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, then fry in the hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Drain the fried shrimp on paper towels.
  6. Spread the remoulade sauce on both sides of the French bread.
  7. Layer the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and fried shrimp on the bread.
  8. Serve the Po' Boy sandwiches immediately.
