Mursik
Mursik is a traditional Kenyan fermented milk drink made from cow's milk and ash.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 1 cup
- Ash - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cow's milk - 4 cups
Let's Get Started
- Boil the fresh cow's milk and let it cool to room temperature.
- Mix the ash with water to create a paste.
- Add the ash paste to the cooled milk and stir well.
- Cover the mixture with a clean cloth and let it ferment for 24-48 hours at room temperature.
- After fermentation, strain the mursik to remove any solids.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
