- Water - 4 cups
- Roasted barley - 1/4 cup
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the roasted barley under cold water.
- Place the barley in a pot with the water.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the barley simmer for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let the barley steep in the water for another 5 minutes.
- Strain the barley out of the water. The remaining liquid is your mugicha.
- You can enjoy the mugicha hot, or let it cool and serve it over ice for a refreshing cold drink.
