Microwave Poached Eggs with Toast
A quick and easy way to make perfectly poached eggs in the microwave, served with crispy toast.
Ingredients - Serves 1
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Bread - 2 slices
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Eggs - 2
Let's Get Started
- Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and add salt. Stir to dissolve the salt.
- Crack the eggs into the bowl, making sure they are fully submerged in the water.
- Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate or microwave-safe plastic wrap.
- Microwave on high for 1 minute, then carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and gently stir the eggs.
- Return the bowl to the microwave and microwave on high for another 1-2 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread butter on the toasted bread slices.
- Carefully remove the poached eggs from the bowl using a slotted spoon and place them on top of the buttered toast.
- Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.
