Meatball Parmesan Sandwich
This delicious meatball Parmesan sandwich is made with homemade meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted cheese, all served on a toasted roll.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Hoagie rolls - 4
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Marinara sauce - 2 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Egg - 1
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Add the cooked meatballs to the marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Slice the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise and place them on a baking sheet.
- Toast the rolls in the oven for 5 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and spoon the meatballs and marinara sauce onto the bottom halves of the rolls.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs.
- Place the baking sheet back in the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and place the top halves of the rolls on the sandwiches.
