Mapo Tofu with Minced Meat

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Cut the tofu into small cubes and set aside.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and crushed Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the minced meat and cook until browned.
  5. Add the chili bean paste and stir-fry for another minute.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce and chicken or vegetable broth. Stir well to combine.
  7. Gently add the tofu cubes to the pan and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in the dissolved cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.
  9. Season with salt to taste.
  10. Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil.
  11. Garnish with chopped green onions.
  12. Serve hot with steamed rice.
