Kaya Toast
Kaya toast is a popular Singaporean breakfast dish consisting of toasted bread spread with kaya, a sweet coconut jam.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Kaya (coconut jam) - 4 tablespoons
- Bread - 4 slices
Let's Get Started
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Spread kaya generously on the other side of each bread slice.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a plate.
- Top with another slice of bread, kaya side down.
- Repeat with the remaining bread slices to make a second kaya toast.
- Cut each kaya toast diagonally into triangles.
