Karim’s Biryani

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and add the chopped onions. Fry until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Saute for a few minutes.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  5. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they turn white.
  6. Add the biryani masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  7. Drain the rice and add it to the pan. Mix well with the spices and cook for a few minutes.
  8. Add enough water to the pan and bring it to a boil. Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  9. Sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, and saffron milk over the biryani. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for a few more minutes.
  10. Serve the biryani hot with raita or any side dish of your choice.
