Jugo de Tamarindo
A refreshing and tangy tamarind juice popular in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Ice - To serve
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Tamarind pods - 15
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the tamarind pods and remove the shells.
- Place the tamarind and 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let cool. Once cool, use your hands to separate the pulp from the seeds.
- Strain the mixture into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Add the sugar and the remaining 2 cups of water to the pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Serve over ice.
