Jugo de Tamarindo

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the tamarind pods and remove the shells.
  2. Place the tamarind and 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and let cool. Once cool, use your hands to separate the pulp from the seeds.
  4. Strain the mixture into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
  5. Add the sugar and the remaining 2 cups of water to the pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. Serve over ice.
