Homemade Tofu

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the soybeans in water overnight.
  2. Drain the soybeans and blend with 3 cups of water until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth into a pot, squeezing out as much liquid as possible. This is your soy milk.
  4. Heat the soy milk over medium heat until it reaches a boil. Stir constantly to prevent it from burning.
  5. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the coagulant.
  6. Let the mixture sit for 15-20 minutes. During this time, the soy milk will separate into curds and whey.
  7. Pour the mixture into a tofu mold lined with a cheesecloth. If you don't have a tofu mold, you can use a colander or sieve.
  8. Place a weight on top of the mold and let it sit for 20 minutes to press out the excess liquid.
  9. Remove the weight and take out your tofu. It's now ready to be used in your favorite recipes!
