Grilled Cheese and Mushroom Sandwich
This delicious grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich is made with sautéed mushrooms, melted cheese, and toasted bread.

- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cheddar cheese - 4 slices
- Bread - 4 slices
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Mushrooms - 8 ounces, sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place 2 slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Top each slice with 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
- Divide the sautéed mushrooms evenly between the two sandwiches.
- Top the mushrooms with the remaining 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
- Place the remaining 2 slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
- Cook the sandwiches over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before serving.
- Slice the sandwiches in half and serve hot.
