Greek Coffee
Greek coffee, also known as Ellinikós Kafés, is a traditional coffee preparation method in Greece. It is a strong and flavorful coffee served in small cups.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sugar (optional) - To taste
- Water - 2 cups
- Greek coffee grounds - 2 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- Measure the desired amount of water using the coffee cup you will be using to serve the coffee. Each cup of water will require 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds.
- Pour the water into a small coffee pot called a briki.
- Add the coffee grounds and sugar (if desired) to the briki. Stir gently to combine.
- Place the briki on the stovetop over low heat. Allow the coffee to heat slowly, stirring occasionally.
- As the coffee heats, a foam will start to form on the surface. Once the foam reaches the top of the briki, remove it from the heat.
- Let the coffee sit for a minute to allow the grounds to settle.
- Pour the coffee into small cups, making sure to distribute the foam evenly.
- Serve the Greek coffee with a glass of water and enjoy!
