General Tso's Chicken Wraps
These General Tso's Chicken Wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. The crispy chicken is coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, and wrapped in a soft tortilla with fresh vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 1/4 cup, sliced
- Carrots - 1 cup, julienned
- Lettuce - 2 cups, shredded
- Tortillas - 4, large
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 2, cut into bite-sized pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a shallow dish, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the coated chicken to the skillet and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the garlic and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat it in the sauce.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- To assemble the wraps, place a tortilla on a flat surface and add a layer of shredded lettuce, julienned carrots, and sliced green onions.
- Top with a generous amount of the General Tso's chicken.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
- Serve the General Tso's Chicken Wraps immediately and enjoy!
