Dirty Rice
Dirty rice is a flavorful and hearty Cajun dish made with rice, ground meat, and a variety of vegetables and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green onions - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Long-grain white rice - 2 cups, cooked
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Cajun seasoning - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken livers - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Celery - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped chicken livers, Cajun seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked rice, green onions, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until heated through.
