Chuck Steak
This flavorful chuck steak is cooked to perfection and served with a rich mushroom sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Mushrooms - 8 ounces, sliced
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Chuck steak - 4 pieces, about 1 inch thick
Let's Get Started
- Season the chuck steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chuck steaks to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms are golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Add the slurry to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chuck steaks to the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness.
- Serve the chuck steaks with the mushroom sauce on top.
