Chivito
Chivito is a traditional Uruguayan sandwich made with tender beef, ham, cheese, and various toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olives - 4, pitted
- Egg - 2, fried
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce - 4 leaves
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Bread rolls - 2
- Mozzarella cheese - 4 slices
- Ham - 4 slices
- Beef tenderloin - 2 slices, about 1/2 inch thick
Let's Get Started
- Season the beef slices with salt and pepper.
- Grill the beef slices over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- Toast the bread rolls lightly.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bread roll.
- Layer the lettuce, tomato, onion, ham, grilled beef slices, mozzarella cheese, fried eggs, and olives on top of the mayonnaise.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover with the top half of the bread roll.
- Serve the chivito sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
