Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the dried fava beans in water overnight. Drain and rinse.
  2. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the soaked fava beans, chopped cilantro, parsley, dill, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the fava beans are tender.
  6. Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, blend the mixture until smooth.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve hot with bread or rice.
