Banh Mi Inspired Hashbrowns
A fusion of Vietnamese and American cuisine, these hashbrowns are packed with the flavors of a traditional Banh Mi sandwich.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - A handful, chopped
- Daikon radish - 1/2, grated
- Carrot - 1 large, grated
- Potatoes - 4 large, grated
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, carrot, and daikon radish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sriracha, and minced garlic.
- Pour the sauce over the grated vegetables and mix well.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the vegetable mixture to the skillet and press it down with a spatula.
- Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the bottom is crispy and golden.
- Flip the hashbrowns and cook for another 15 minutes, or until the other side is crispy and golden.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and green onions before serving.
