Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the almonds in hot water for 30 minutes. Peel off the skin and grind them into a smooth paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat.
  3. Add the almond paste and cook for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  4. Add sugar and mix well until it dissolves completely.
  5. Pour in the milk and stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
  6. Add saffron strands and cardamom powder, and mix well.
  7. Continue cooking until the halwa starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  8. Add chopped cashews and pistachios, and mix well.
  9. Finally, add rose water and give it a final stir.
  10. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  11. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with additional chopped nuts.
