Portobello Burger

A juicy and flavorful burger made from marinated portobello mushrooms, topped with all your favorite fixings.

Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise - To taste
  • Red onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Tomato - 1 large, sliced
  • Lettuce - 4 leaves
  • Burger buns - 4
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Balsamic vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Portobello mushrooms - 4 large

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems. Combine the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Marinate the mushrooms in this mixture for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat. Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender.
  3. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
  4. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the buns, then adding the lettuce, tomato, grilled mushroom, and onion.
  5. Serve immediately with your favorite side dish.
