Mulled Wine Whiskey Sangria

This festive and flavorful sangria combines the warmth of mulled wine with the richness of whiskey.

Ingredients

  • Sparkling water - 1 cup
  • Cranberries - 1/2 cup
  • Orange juice - 1/4 cup
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Star anise - 2
  • Cloves - 6
  • Cinnamon sticks - 2
  • Apple - 1, sliced
  • Orange - 1, sliced
  • Whiskey - 1/2 cup
  • Red wine - 1 bottle

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the red wine, whiskey, orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, honey, and orange juice.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and strain the mixture to remove the spices and fruit slices.
  4. Pour the mulled wine into a pitcher or punch bowl and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Add the cranberries and sparkling water to the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
  6. Serve the mulled wine whiskey sangria in glasses or mugs, garnished with additional orange slices and cinnamon sticks if desired.
