Japchae Bap

Japchae Bap is a delicious Korean dish made with stir-fried glass noodles, vegetables, and marinated beef served over steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • Green onions - 2, chopped, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
  • Glass noodles (dangmyeon) - 200g
  • Mushrooms - 100g, sliced
  • Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Carrots - 1 large, julienned
  • Spinach - 200g
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Beef sirloin - 300g, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and sugar. Mix well and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more vegetable oil if needed. Stir-fry the spinach, carrots, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until tender.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the glass noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  5. Add the cooked glass noodles to the pan with the vegetables. Stir in the cooked beef and mix well to combine.
  6. Serve the Japchae Bap over steamed rice, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
