Grunge Cake

A moist, rich, and decadent chocolate cake with a hint of coffee flavor. Perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Brewed coffee - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
  • Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Eggs - 2
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Baking powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder - 3/4 cup
  • Granulated sugar - 2 cups
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix until smooth. Stir in the coffee until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once the cakes are completely cool, frost with your favorite frosting.
