Dubu Jorim

Ingredients

• Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
• Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
• Sugar - 1 tablespoon
• Water - 1/2 cup
• Green onions - 2, chopped
• Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
• Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
• Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
• Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
• Firm tofu - 1 block (14 oz)

Instructions

1. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
2. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
3. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and gently stir to coat them with the garlic, ginger, and green onion mixture.
5. In a separate bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, and sugar. Pour the mixture over the tofu in the skillet.
6. Cover the skillet and let the tofu simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the tofu is heated through.
7. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and red pepper flakes (if desired) before serving.
8. Serve hot as a main dish or as a side dish with steamed rice.
