Bell Pepper and Cabbage Stir Fry

This colorful and healthy stir fry is made with bell peppers, cabbage, and a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
  • Green onions - 2, sliced (for garnish)
  • Black pepper - To taste
  • Salt - To taste
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Cabbage - 1/2 head, thinly sliced
  • Bell peppers - 2, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  3. Add the bell peppers and cabbage to the skillet and stir fry for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Pour the sauce over the vegetables in the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish or over steamed rice as a main course.
