Banana Caramel Cake

This moist and flavorful banana caramel cake is a perfect combination of sweet bananas and rich caramel.

Ingredients

  • Banana slices - For garnish
  • Whipped cream - For serving
  • Caramel sauce - 1 cup
  • Buttermilk - 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Eggs - 2
  • Granulated sugar - 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, softened
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Ripe bananas - 3, mashed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  7. Add the remaining batter on top and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over it.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, frost the cake with whipped cream and garnish with banana slices.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
